The Edwards Aquifer is approximately 180 kilometers long and 10 to 60 kilometers wide and extends to a depth of over 1,000 meters. It is located in south-central Texas, within the south-central part of the United States. It is only 100 kilometers from the site of the 2009 International Congress of Speleology. |
Interests: |
I direct the research program for the Edwards Aquifer Authority in San Antonio, Texas USA. The aquifer is used by over 1.7 million people as a water resource for agricultural, municipal, and industrial purposes. I'm interested in all aspects of water quality and quantity in karst aquifers and how they can be applied to better manage the resource. We have a staff of 8 that performs research on this hypogenic karst system. |
