The variations of the sea level during glaciations or related to the Messinian Dessicated Deep Basin Model have generated geomorphological and sedimentary processes that have determined the spatial organisation and the behaviour of the aquifers not only on coastal zones but sometimes, far inland.
Alluvial valleys and karstic aquifers, often located in densely inhabited zones are a major stake for the future. Their valorisation and management come up against problems of a specific nature owing to these marine variations. The consequences on the sea level variations due to the global change have also to be studied.
Papers (non restrictive list) :
Eustatism, Messinian deep sea model, Quaternary variations, marine transgressions, spatial definition of aquifers, water tests, water supply, water management, artificial ground water recharge, water balance, submarine springs, deep flooded karsts, methods of exploitation, brackish water, equipments, geophysics,......
