14th International Karstological School ?Classical Karst?: Sustainable management of natural and env

Dates: From 27 Jun, 2006 till 02 Jul, 2006
Location: Postojna, Slovenia

As in the years before 14th International Karstological School ?Classical Karst?willbe organised by the Karst Research Institute ZRC SAZU. As in the past schools we thoroughly recognised some aspects and peculiarities of karst and karst features, in this year we will look for the answer to question how to preserve a brittle balance between natural resources on karst and human interventions. The attention of this year school will be especially devoted to possible modes of sustainable management of karst underground and surface resources, possibilities of sustainable tourism on karst and water resources management, suitable construction of transport and residential infrastructure. Selected papers will be afterwards published in Acta Carsologica.

The school is included into EU Marie Curie Conferences and Training Courses. School participants can obtain a grant which covers travelling and accommodation expenses, and registration fee.
