Abstract:
One of the earliest cave surveys made in Eastern Siberia is published in this article, namely, the map of the Nozdrevataya Cave, located in Yakutia in the middle flow of the Lena River. The cave was surveyed on July 15, 1785 by an alumnus of the Irkutsk Navigational School, Senior Geodesist A.I. Losev, which later became the Architect and Land Surveyor of the Irkutsk Guberniya (Province). The cave map is outstanding document of topographical art, showing high level of surveying and graphical mastery of geodesists of the epoch of Catherine the Great.
